The largest and most used highway in Cyprus, is the four-lane, 73 km long, A1 road that connects Nicosia with Limassol. The road was completed in 1984 and has (since undergone several improvements), the latest, being the addition of two more lanes, from Nicosia to the exit point for the city of Larnaca and back.
The use of the motorway, which is well signposted, offers drivers comfortable and safe driving and a remarkable variation of scenery.
The permitted maximum speed limit is 100km per hour and the minimum is 65.
Have a nice and safe trip and do not forget that in Cyprus, as in the UK, we drive on the left!
