Pentalia: 3 reasons to go to a very special village in Pafos

Pentalia: 3 reasons to go to a very special village in Pafos

Let's go to Pentalia

Pentalia is located in Pafos near the villages of Amargeti, Statos Agios Fotios, Galataria, Kelokedara and Falia. It is a semi-mountainous village in Cyprus which has more or less 50 permanent residents.

Malaga...I love you
I am sure you will wonder what is "malaga". So I will let you have a guess first. Malaga is a type of grape that you can find a lot of in the village of Pentalia. Malaga is mainly used for making wine and zivania. In fact you can go to, Malaga Festival that is established every year on 14th of August .The festival is organized by the village. During the festival everyone can enjoy Malaga grapes for free. Also, at the festival you can taste the traditional "resi" that is a very famous food in Pafos and be like a Pafian for a while.

Sinti Monastery
Panagis of Sintis Monastery is a church that you can find by crossing a dirt road. The road to the church can remind you of a Far Ouest.  In reality you are in the middle of nowhere and it is like you are playing in a movie. The dirt road will take you to the Monastery of Sinti. The monastery was built during the Venetian domination. Next to the monastery there is a dry river but if you go there during the spring season you will find a green environment.

New Pentalia
Nea Pentalia is the new village of Pentalia. Pentalia was moved because of the fact that the old village was declared a seismic area. The new Pentalia is built on a hill overlooking the surrounding villages. If the weather is good, there is great visibility up to the Pafos sea. There, you can see the new church of the village and drink a coffee at the coffee shop which is at the highest point of the area.

Enjoy the view!
