In July, the weather in Cyprus is sunny and very hot. The temperature during daytime will always reach 35 °C. July weather is perfect for relaxing at the beach and enjoying the warm weather of Cyprus. Any other activity, you should be planed for early morning or afternoon.

High temperatures, clear skies and cool sea is what July weather is about. July is one of the hottest months in Cyprus and you should not expose yourself to the sun for many hours

2. Cyprus temperature in July

Average temperature in July is 30°C on the west coast and 32°C-33°C on the eastern-south coast. However, if your directly exposed to the sun it will feel hotter than 40°C. The heat at the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, reaches 37°C. On the mountains it is also hot but the temperatures rarely goes above 28°C. The main heat of the day is from 12 am till 4 pm.

3. What clothes to wear in July

4. Going to the beach in July

In the south coasts of Limassol, Larnaka and Ayia Napa the waters are shallower and warmer with temperatures of 24-26 °C in July. The west cost of Pafos and northern coasts of Latchi have colder waters with temperatures of 22-24 °C in July.

It is always a important to use sun protection, such as hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. For the beach, you should have plenty of sun cream with you as well as a bottle of water.

5. Sleeping at night

For sleeping you will need to use the A/C. Mosquitoes can be a problem if you decide to sleep without A/C and the windows open. 

6. Things to do in July

July is nice to spend time around the pool or at the beach. The are plenty beaches to visit and you can swim, snorkel, do water sports or just sunbathing.

Try paragliding, kiteboarding or scuba diving – for example to the Zenobia wreck off the coast of Larnaka. If you are not after swimming-sunbathing, visit archaeological and historical sites but make sure to do it in early morning or late afternoon when it is not very hot. July is also the month for celebrations in honour of the famous Cypriot wine Koumandaria. Also the Ancient Greek Drama Festival takes place in July and August in Limassol, Pafos and Nicosia.
