One more glass of wine, please

The wineries of Limassol are famous for their history of viticulture and for their excellent local wines produced on the southern slopes of the Troodos mountain range.

The famous Wine Villages of Cyprus are 20 traditionally charming, unspoilt villages with cobbled streets and beautiful squares as well as 16 wineries! The Wine Road passes through: Limassol, Kolossi, Erimi (Cyprus Wine Museum), Kandou, Souni-Zanakia, Pano Kivides, Agios Ambrosios, Lofou, Vouni, Koilani, Pera Pedi, Mandria, Kato Platres, Omodos, Vasa, Malia, Arsos, Pachna , Anogyra and Avdimou. The villages are worth visiting, not only for their wineries, but also for their traditional architecture, cobbled narrow passages and wonderful natural surroundings.

The dry climate combined with the unique geology contribute to the production of first-rate wines, produced mainly from the local Hynisteri (white) and Mavro (red) grape varieties, as well as some imported varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro, Grenache and Syrah among a total of 23 different varieties. Also, the famous sweet wine Koumandaria (or Koumantaria) is produced, which owes its name to the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem.

It is already known that drinking a small amount of wine every day has several benefits for our health. Experts recommend 2 glasses of wine daily for men and 1 for women. Drinking wine, among other things, helps improve memory and weight loss, strengthens bones and strengthens the body's defenses. It also reduces the risk of high blood sugar and protects the ovaries in women.
