Vavla is a semi-mountainous village and belongs to the "medias" of the Larnaka province. It is a small traditional village and from a geological point of view it lies on the boundaries of the Lefkara geological formation (limestone rock) and the Troodos of the Transcaucasian rocks. Among the two geological formations prevail the lavas, which are together with the Diabase pygeneous rocks. The existence of these geological formations and the microclimate of the area allowed the growth of rich vegetation, with 3 rare species and 18 endemic species of plants.

The location of Vavla offers immense views of the areas of Limassol, Larnaka and the Troodos mountains. The village of Vavla has been built, according to the historian Nearchos Clerides, in 1450 AD.

In the village there is the church of Saint Georgios and the church of Archangel Michael as well as the chapel of Panagia tis Agapis (Our Lady of Love). In the area of ​​Vavla there is also one of the largest monasteries in Cyprus that has been operating until today. This is the monastery of St. Minas. It is located east of Vavla on the road that leads to the village of Kato Drys. It is almost 2 km from Vavla and is a nunnery monastery.

In Vavla, the residence where EOKA mayoralty was killed, Michalakis Paridis has become a museum. Here are the poems of the hero, as well as various tools and objects of the EOKA struggle.

The path starts from the center of the village, passes through the chapel of Our Lady of Love and ends again in the center of the village. This route of 7 km takes about 3 hours. A second course of the 3 to 4 km long path gives the opportunity to enjoy nature within 1 ½ hours.
