A celebration of collaborative chemistry, fearless improvisation, and the masterpieces that inspire musical adventure, The Jazzical Violin features the acclaimed Walkers Violin and Piano Duo from the USA.

Since his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra — praised by the American Record Guide as a performance of “precision and rapturous immediacy” — violinist and composer Gregory Walker has built a remarkable career, performing with ensembles such as Poland’s Sinfonia Varsovia, Filharmonia Sudecka, the Detroit Symphony, and the Colorado Symphony. His international appearances have included Norway’s Tromsø Cathedral Series, the Centro Mexicano para la Música y las Artes Sonoras, the Genesis Concert Series in Beijing, the Harvard Club Concert Series, the NWEAMO Festival in Tokyo, and the U.S. Library of Congress.

Pianist Lori Wolf Walker, a frequent prizewinner in piano and violin competitions throughout the southwestern United States, holds a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Colorado. Together, the Walkers have enchanted audiences from Ireland’s Cork Orchestral Society and Greece’s Lamia Conservatoire to the Encuentro Musicale de las Americas in Havana, Cuba.

Their album Electric Vivaldi (Newport Classic) has been hailed by Allmusic.com as “a rapprochement between the classical and electronic fields that is different from and more extensive than any other achieved thus far.” The duo was also featured on the cover of International Musician magazine (April 2007), under the headline “Voyaging far beyond Classical.”
