Michalis

My name is Michalis Venetianos, and I’m a child of the ’80s.
We grew up in a time when electronic games, mobile phones, and computers were unknown to us.
What we did have was a bicycle, a soccer ball, and a body perpetually covered in dirt and mud.

Yes, I come from that “school” — the romantic one, of the neighborhood streets, of carefree days.

As times changed and technology started taking over our lives, I was never afraid. On the contrary, I saw it as an opportunity.
An opportunity to share the energy, the nostalgia, and the romance of my childhood years with a wider audience. Through stories from the past and the present, through current events, traditions, customs, values, everyday little moments — even things that now belong to the past.
Together, we’ll search for them and rediscover them in the forgotten chests of memory.

On my profile, you’ll also find articles mainly about our island — its history, its culture, and our religious heritage — but also about travel. Lots of travel. Personal experiences as well as stories drawn from other sources.

Thank you for being here. If you’ve read this far, then you’ve already become part of my story. And that gives me the strength to keep writing, keep creating, and keep offering you something meaningful every time.
