We ate at one of the best Indian restaurants on the island

Authentic, spicy, and with generous portions

If you’ve ever been to Kissonerga in Pafos and haven’t visited this gem of Indian cuisine, then you’ve missed out on one of the most delightful dining experiences on the island.

We’re talking about Poppadums Indian Tandoori Restaurant, which is always full...and for good reason. Since 2007, it has proudly served authentic flavours that keep you coming back again and again.

The space at Poppadums is clean, welcoming, and filled with aromas of cumin, cardamom, and fresh coriander wafting from the kitchen, setting the stage for the experience to come.

The staff is polite, energetic, and ready to answer any questions, especially helpful if you’re unsure how much spice your palate can handle.

We started with the timeless Chicken Tikka Masala: tender pieces of chicken in a velvety tomato sauce, with hints of almond and a touch of cream that subtly sweetens the dish. It’s the comfort food of Indian cuisine, balanced, full of depth, and incredibly satisfying.

For those who love intensity, the Chicken Madras was a revelation: bold curry aromas, mustard, fresh chillies, and a tangy tamarind kick that awakened the palate. Even bolder was the Chicken Vindaloo, intensely spicy, with a curry paste that builds heat and flavour with every bite. Not for the faint of heart, but if you love spicy food, it’s exactly what you need.

The Lamb Balti offered a warmer, spicier flavour profile. Rich and earthy, the lamb was tender, almost melting in your mouth. And when the King Prawn Bhuna arrived, the table fell silent for a moment. The prawns were cooked in a rich masala sauce with caramelised onions and tomatoes, packed with spices - each bite was a journey.

If you want to experience Indian cuisine the way it’s truly meant to be served - with care, intensity, and authenticity, then this is your place.

You're not just going there for a meal - you're going for an experience you'll remember, and one that will have you coming back for more. It's absolutely worth it.
