Lunar eclipse at the Troodos Observatory
Invitation to interested parties
You would probably have heard and read about the total lunar eclipse that will take place on the evening of September 7th and will be visible from 85% of the total area of the earth. Fortunately, we are lucky because we will have the opportunity to observe this phenomenon from beginning to end.

On the occasion of this phenomenon, the Troodos Observatory has taken care and has issued a relevant announcement. It invites us to visit it and observe the event through the lens of the Astrograph telescope. The doors open at 18:00.
The moon, that evening, will rise at 18:28 but will be visible to the human eye at 18:59. Then, at 19:28 the moon will enter a path under the earth's shadow, slowly starting the phenomenon to become visible and this will peak at 20:30. At 21:52 the phenomenon will slowly begin to move away since the moon will now begin its exit from the earth's shadow, until 22:56 when the phenomenon will end.
See the full announcement here.
The Observatory has also arranged for a live podcast to be broadcast during the phenomenon.
Ticket prices are 10€ for adults and 5€ for people up to 17 years old. Reservations are required due to the limited number of seats available.
