Ayios Nikandros National Forest Park

It is a new park that offers a picnic area near the beach!

This gorgeous park is located close to Ayia Napa along the coastal area and offers a picnic site close to the beach.

The area extends over 26,38 hecters of national park area.

Agios Nikandros Touristic Area is located near Lanta Beach, between Makronisos beaches and Nissi Beach. It is a small touristic area with a capacity of up to 100 people, with all the facilities for a day trip, as it includes a specially designed areas for fire, sheltered wooden tables, two faucets with drinking water, toilets and a few toys for young children.

This area is located on a hilltop offering a magnificent view of the blue of the sea combined with the green of the area, consisting mainly of acacia and pine trees. Guests can explore the surrounding area and dive into the crystal clear waters of Lanta Beach.

The access to the excursion area is made of a dirt road, but it provides more than enough parking spaces.

It is worth mentioning that the area of ​​Agios Nikandros is included in the list of the National Forest Parks of Cyprus.

To the north, it is surrounded by the Sotiras national forest, to the west and east by private land and to the south it is washed by the sea. The new Larnaka - Paralimni highway is developed to the north of the park. The park is crossed by the Liopetri - Ayia Napa road. It is very close to Nissi Avenue, a 6,5 km road, which is one of the main roads of the area’s road network. 

The park was declared by the Cyprus Forest Department as a National Forest Park in 2000 with a view to be improved and developed into the environmental lung of the area, to offer recreational and sports opportunities to both the inhabitants and the tourists, to aesthetically improve the area and to protect the area from other uses. The area occupies 26,38 hectares and Agia Napa Municipality in cooperation with the Department of Forests, have projected several actions that will convert the park into a recreational and sport area of highly ecological value.
