A Sweet Experience in the Heart of Protaras

A Sweet Experience in the Heart of Protaras

A charming dessert spot with a touch of Greece

One Sunday afternoon in Protaras, as the sun dipped into the sea, we found ourselves searching for something more than just a simple drink, coffee, or dessert. We wanted a place that would truly stay in our memories.

That’s how we discovered To Glykatzidiko – a pastry shop unlike any other. From the very first moment, its minimal yet warm design, inspired by Greece and the East, drew us in like a magnet.

The display counters looked like a small celebration of sweet delights: colourful creations, crafted with care, so tempting we didn’t know where to begin.

We started with the famous ekmek kataifi, served in irresistible variations with pistachio, chocolate, or strawberry. One bite was enough to realise this was more than dessert, it was a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

Next came the legendary Trigona Panoramatos, inspired by Thessaloniki: syrupy, juicy pastries filled with airy vanilla cream that simply melted in our mouth.

We couldn’t resist the fluffy loukoumades (Greek doughnuts), topped with imaginative flavours, and of course we sampled the syrupy orange pie and the rich chocolate pie... proof that every dessert here is made with true passion. For those who prefer lighter options, there are also delicious vegan creations, equally full of flavour and indulgence.

And no visit would be complete without a scoop of refreshing creamy gelato, in flavours that win hearts instantly. Unlike regular ice cream, gelato has less fat, less air, and is served slightly warmer, offering a richer taste and velvety texture.

To Glykatzidiko will remain open until January 6th, before reopening in March 2026, ready once again to welcome visitors into this unforgettable sweet journey.

Because here, every flavour is a story you’ll want to taste again.
