Jellyfish colour and harmony

Jellyfish in Cyprus,

Jellyfish have tiny stinging cells in their tentacles to sting or paralyse their prey before they eat them. Inside their bell-shaped body is an opening that is its mouth. They eat and discard waste from this opening. Some jellyfish are clear, but others are in vibrant colours such as pink, yellow, blue, and purple, and often are luminescent.

As jellyfish squirt water from their mouths they are propelled forward. Tentacles hang down from the smooth baglike body and sting their prey.

Jellyfish stings can be painful to humans and sometimes very dangerous. But jellyfish don't purposely attack humans. Most stings occur when people accidentally touch a jellyfish, but if the sting is from a dangerous species, it can be deadly. Jellyfish digest their food very quickly. They wouldn't be able to float if they had to carry a large, undigested meal around.

Sea turtles relish the taste of jellyfish.. Jellyfish feed on plankton, small fish, fish larvae, crustaceans, or other jellyfish. Their predators are tuna. sharks, swordfish.sea turtles and salmon.lmon.

Some jellyfish have ocell: light-sensitive organs that do not form images but which can detect light and are used to determine up from down, responding to sunlight shining on the water's surface. These are generally pigment spot ocelli, which have some cells (not all) pigmented.

Jellyfish range from about one millimetre in bell height and diameter to nearly 2 metres (6.6 ft) in bell height and diameter; the tentacles and mouth parts usually extend beyond this bell dimension

Other very small jellyfish, which have bells about one millimetre, are the hydromedusae of many species that have just been released from their parent polyp some of these live only a few minutes before shedding their gametes in the plankton and then dying, while others will grow in the plankton for weeks or months.
