God does not play dice

You?

Random? Coincidence? No coincidence, fate or perhaps destiny? What is one and what is the other? How is it determined by whom and why? Are there moments that are 'destined' to happen or do we simply determine our own destiny and we are our own masters? Do we often find excuses in phrases like 'what has to be done will be done' just to throw the responsibility off us? How many times have we not said 'what if I didn't make this decision?' Why we always want to have second thoughts about our choices and wondering 'what if?'. Everything happens for a reason and should we passively accept it or become active, dominant and change what we desire?

Random: something which is relative or depends on chance, that which cannot be predicted and the outcome cannot be certain so it can also lead to danger. Random events are studied by both science (statistics) and philosophy.

Coincidence: mainly accidental occurrence of two or more events or phenomena at the same time or even in the same place. An encounter can be the result of many other events of which we are not aware. But are there coincidences in life, events that do not have a cause? Every cause, every action, every decision we make has an effect which brings about changes and so on. A meeting that happened coincidentally is therefore a random event and brings changes.

Fate: the hypothetical and inexplicable force that is considered responsible for what happens to every human being, a derived noun from the ancient verb 'meiromai' meaning to take part, participate in the lottery. Destiny is that which directs us to our fate, that which is determined for each person so fate is related to destiny and precedes it.

No one can answer with certainty what our life is predetermined by. I want to believe that we are in control and through our choices we can overturn something that bothers us, without dooming and remaining idle. After all, no one can be 'lucky' or 'unlucky' all the time.
